The Big Give Christmas Challenge is BACK!

Last year, you helped us to exceed our target to raise an incredible sum – every penny of which has been put towards supporting Ukrainian refugees.

The Big Give Christmas ChallengeThis year, the Christmas Challenge runs from 28 November to 5 December and we are aiming to raise £35,000 for the new Leadership and Talent Centre we are building in Nairobi, Kenya. That’s nearly one-third of the total Phase 1 costs for this project.

The great thing about The Big Give Christmas Challenge is that your gift is DOUBLED. Every pound you give is match funded – so £10 becomes £20, £100 becomes £200, and so on. And what’s more, Gift Aid also applies if you are an eligible UK taxpayer!

The project we are supporting is of huge importance. We are partnering with Pastor Joshua from Grace Empowerment in Kenya. Many will know of his inspirational commitment over many years to children and young people living on the streets of Nairobi. It’s an exceptionally tough life for these youngsters – usually carrying the psychological burden of having been abandoned by their families, and not knowing where the next meal or clean drinking water will come from. Dangers they experience daily include gang crime, substance misuse, trafficking and physical abuse.

But we, with Pastor Joshua, believe it doesn’t have to be like this. Building on the success of Grace Empowerment’s ‘halfway house’ and drop-in centre, we plan to build a new residential facility to take 25 young people at a time off the hazardous streets. We want this to be a safe, nurturing environment with opportunities to develop literacy, numeracy and vocational skills, to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship, and foster a spirit of hope through which these young people can embrace their own talents and embark upon a meaningful career. A genuine route out of poverty, enhancing the whole community!

Can you help us? Supporting International Needs through The Big Give Christmas Challenge is easy – you simply need to give through this special website between midday 28 November and midday 5 December. (While donations through our own website are appreciated at any time, it is ONLY through The Big Give’s website that match funding can be applied, and only within this limited time period.)

Watch out for us across social media and on our website https://ineeds.org.uk for a full-on week of fundraising activities, as we cheer on our ‘talentometer’ towards its target! Pastor Joshua will be with us in the UK for the duration, so do come and say hello at one of our special events.

Thank you for your support and encouragement – we love you!
