THANK YOU Anya, Walter and our Incredible Supporters!

Two Fundraisers Rolled into One: A Week full of Lively Language Lessons with Anya and Walter…

The Big Give and Giving Tuesday was an intense time for our team at International Needs. Mostly due to the fact that we received such a massive outpouring of compassionate support for our Emergency Ukrainian Refugees Appeal that we were most definitely kept on our toes trying to keep track of it all in real time.

Despite it all – with rising inflation, sky-rocketing bills and the NHS at breaking point (to name but a few issues facing us all) – our supporters gave an immense show of support to Ukrainian refugees.

And are you aware what was raised to support Ukrainian refugees?

Yes, your eyes do not deceive you. Through match funding, we managed to raise the grand total of £34,000 – our biggest target yet!

Here we want to say another THANK YOU for tuning in and showing such generosity to those directly impacted by the war in Ukraine.

Your support will help to provide:

  • Transport for refugees to move from the border to safety
  • Food for refugee families
  • Helping local families open their homes to refugees
  • Clothes, medicines and other basic needs
  • Rent for accommodation
  • Bedding to be used on church floors and conference centres

Anya was our teacher for the IN Ukrainian Language Lessons and she did a superb job, having previously taught English back home in Ukraine.

With Walter the duck (our fundraising mascot) back again for a week of fundraising, this time his role was as a student. He fell off his chair a few times – possibly having been overwhelmed as a result of such skilled teaching by Anya. Walter also met Mango the house cat who was very curiously sniffing his shiny, yellow skin.

WALTER WOULD LIKE TO SAY THANK YOU, TOO.
