A New Executive Director of IN UK!
I’m excited to share some news from our team. As many of you will know, Danny Morris recently shared his intention to leave International Needs after 12 years as Executive Director.
Danny formally gave notice at the end of June, and has since been working with the team to ensure a smooth transition ahead of his departure at the end of this month.
As Trustees we are very grateful for all Danny has achieved during his 12 years of dedicated leadership. In this time annual income has more than doubled, enabling substantially more to be achieved by our international partners, and Danny leaves us with a dedicated staff team in place, so we are full of optimism for the future.
I am pleased to say that after an appointment process and with careful and prayerful consideration, the Trustees have unanimously and enthusiastically appointed Ali Mbugua as Executive Director from 1st October 2026.
Ali joined International Needs over 10 years ago as Programme Manager. For the past two years she has worked closely with Danny in the leadership of International Needs. During this time, she has clearly demonstrated her capability to lead the charity, and we firmly believe that she is God’s provision for us in this role.
Together in Mission – A Message from Ali Mbugua

“It is with great excitement and prayerful determination that I step into the role of Executive Director. Having been part of the International Needs journey over the last 10 years, I have seen the uniqueness and beauty of our model of mission in action.
“We are a global family committed to mission through equal partnership, we are attentive to the ways God is working through our collaboration, and we journey together through life’s joys and challenges.
“It is an immense privilege to see the transformation this leads to in the lives of individuals. Sometimes this means a mother can safely deliver her baby, other times a vulnerable child can go to school for the first time. We are so grateful to you, our loyal and generous supporters, who make this change possible.
“It has been a joy to work alongside Danny over this time; his passion, wisdom and commitment continue to inspire me. I am thankful for the opportunity to lead IN UK into its next chapter.
“I will be working alongside our brilliant trustees and staff to see how we can serve God’s mission more faithfully each day. Let’s do more together.”
I am sure you will join me in congratulating Ali and praying for her as she takes on this responsibility.
