Bible Club Project- Korogocho, Kenya
Bringing hope to children in Korogocho, Nairobi
Korogocho, one of Nairobi’s largest slums, is a harsh place to grow up. There is poor sanitation, and limited access to clean water, education, and healthcare. It is also right next to the largest dumpsite in Kenya, with overcrowding in the slum leading to houses now being built directly on the site. These conditions leave children vulnerable to drugs, crime, abuse, and emotional trauma.
The Bible Club Project in Korogocho led by International Needs Kenya with support from partners in New Zealand and the UK, is helping change that.
These clubs offer safe, welcoming spaces where children can learn, grow, and feel valued. Through Bible stories, they get to learn about Jesus’ love in a way that makes sense to them, and gives them a moral compass to make better choices, even when they’re surrounded by tough influences. They will get to have fun! With games, skits and songs, these children will get to have fun despite their circumstances.
“Together, we are sowing seeds of hope in Korogocho—seeds that will one day grow into leaders, change-makers, and ambassadors of the Gospel.” Jocelyn Muraya, Executive Director of IN Kenya
