Joanna runs Yorkshire Marathon for water projects!

£9,399 raised so far (at 2.30pm on Monday 19th)!! Thank you everyone!

…………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Phil and I continue to be inspired by the work of the International Needs and specifically their WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) project out in Uganda. We have seen first-hand how these water projects change lives.

All funds raised by my marathon attempt are for WASH 3, of which some of the money will go to Kikwanya Village in memory of Joseph (scroll for the donation form!).

We want to continue to support their work, particularly as they will be working once again in the community where Joseph’s well was drilled, bringing fresh water and hygiene education to families in the area.

Joseph – today (10th October) marks 5 years since I last saw you, told you I loved you, was able to hug you (Boo for lock downs!!)

There’s not a day that goes by when I don’t think about you, but in amongst our sadness, me, dad and Daniel are trying our best to live on as you would have wanted us to.

You know I always wanted to run a marathon and as I’ve got a significant birthday approaching  I feel like it’s now or never – so here goes.

You always used to push me to do these challenges, so this one is definitely for you.

I know you would have been my biggest supporter, cheering me on when I hit ‘the wall’.

I’m going to give it my best shot and will hopefully make you proud and make some money for the WASH project as I go.

When we come together, incredible things happen. Joanna is running the York Marathon on 19th October 2025 (running a marathon was on her list to do before she turns 60!) – she has taken on this challenge because she believes every child deserves clean water.

Your gift, big or small, will ripple out to change lives in Uganda. Prefer to give securely by phone? You are very welcome to call 01883 331332.
