With the good news of Jesus Christ at the heart of our work in Nepal, One of the ways that we support the local Church is through a network of around 40 community workers who are dispersed throughout rural Nepal. These individuals are leaders in their communities as either pastors or church leaders offering social and pastoral skills. These workers coordinate our Lydia programme, identifying women who could benefit from the Lydia vocational training or by recognising young children that are vulnerable because of extreme poverty or from losing one or both parents. The community workers were also instrumental in making our relief efforts following the earthquake of April 2015 as effective as possible. Over 1,500 families were reached through the relief efforts and the identification of the most adversely affected.
We are all about believers reaching our neighbours for Christ, and in doing so, fulfilling the mandate of Jesus to love God and love our neighbour as ourselves.
